Recycling and Garbage Pickup


TRASH/RECYCLING INFORMATION

Recycling is picked up every other week on your normal trash day. If a Waste Management scheduled holiday falls during the week (Mon-Fri) and your scheduled pickup is on or after the holiday,  pickup will be one day later for the remainder of the week.

 If problems occur with trash pickup, please call Waste Management at 1-800-866-4460. Please do not call the township.


If a Weekday Holiday falls on or before your normal trash /recycling
day, all trash/recycling will occur one day later that week.

ELECTRONIC RECYCLING CENTER HOURS

South Fayette has partnered with eLoop recycling to establish an electronic recycling drop-off facility at the South Fayette Public Works Building.
This facility will accept a wide variety of electronics free of charge, such as televisions, computers, monitors  and printers.

ITEMS WHICH ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED:

Effective Nov. 24, 2014 we will no longer accept microwaves, lamps&ballasts, batteries, small kitchen appliances (toasters, blenders, etc.), large speakers, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, curling irons,  refrigerators/air conditioners containing Freon, commerical sized copiers/fax machines.  Please remove items from boxes, packing materials or bags before dropping off.

ANYONE WISHING TO DROP OFF ITEMS FOR ELECTRONIC RECYCLING SHOULD CALL PRIOR TO BRINGING THE ITEMS TO THE TOWNSHIP. 
ELECTRONIC RECYCLING WILL BE AVAILABLE TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM ONLY.


PLEASE CALL AHEAD AND STOP AT THE TOWNSHIP OFFICES PRIOR TO DROPPING ITEMS OFF


PENNSYLVANIA'S ELECTRONICS RECYCLING LAW

 The Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act, enacted in 2010, requires that consumers cannot dispose of certain electronics devices in the trash, but that these items must instead be brought to a recycling operation.
