EARNED INCOME TAX CHANGES FOR 2012
Beginning January 1, 2012, all employers in Pennsylvania are required to withhold you local earned income tax from your paycheck. This is NOT a new tax or a tax increase, but a change in the way the current earned income tax will be collected as mandated by state law.
Your employer may have already provided you a Residency Certification Form to complete and return. As a South Fayette resident, be sure to indicate South Fayette Township as your residence municipality and include South Fayette’s Resident PSD Code of 731301.
If your employer has not provided you a Residency Certification Form you can download the form by clicking here: SFTWP PSD FORM. South Fayette’s local information and PSD Code have already been filled in on this form for your convenience.
If you are self-employed or employed outside of the state of Pennsylvania, you are required to file directly with Jordan Tax Service. Please contact Jordan Tax Service at 412-835-5243.
If you have already received a form from your employer, please make certain that South Fayette Township is filled in as your residence municipality and the correct PSD code was used (731301 for South Fayette Township). If you have any questions about the new Earned Income Tax collection changes, please contact the South Fayette Administration Office at 412-221-8700.
